Paço de Arcos is a town located in the municipality of Oeiras. This village is nicknamed by its inhabitants as “the most charming town in Portugal”, being known for its location, on the Lisbon Coast, next to an area of beaches, and for the pleasant riverside environment of its picturesque streets. In 2011, the municipality of Oeiras registered 172 120 inhabitants.
Currently, it is the county, at national level, with the highest concentration of graduates and doctorates and one of those with the lowest drop-out rate and early school leaving. These results reflect the investment that the municipality has made in terms of education and teaching.
