Studying at PORTO is an unforgettable experience. Porto is now recognized worldwide on several levels. Not only for wine of the same name, for football and for gastronomy, but for being the city of science, research and culture. A vibrant and young city in which academic life is lived intensely. The great concentration of students of higher education makes of Porto an Erasmus city, multicultural, cosmopolitan and low cost (or high budget). The internationalization and plurality of cultures that are seen and lived on the streets of the city are an asset to all those who live, study or work here.
The city was European Capital in 2001, hosts one of the best music festivals in the world, offers venues such as the Serralves Museum and Casa da Música, is home to one of the great football clubs of the Iberian Peninsula, has received the title of Best European destination countless times and boasts some of the best inns in the world.
The Porto airport, which welcomes all those arriving (or returning), was elected Best Airport by Size and Region by the International Airport Council. In addition to this, UNESCO ranked Porto as a world heritage site in 1996, due to its remarkable historic center. In addition to this heritage, the city of Porto is a stage of vitality and dynamism without schedules, a brightness that allows residents and visitors to safely enjoy a cultural and social life equivalent to any European capital. Vila do Conde is an important industrial center, fishing port, beach and tourist area. It is one of the most sought after bathing areas in the country.
The city is bordered by another urban agglomeration, Póvoa de Varzim. The population of this city is approximately 65,000 inhabitants. The sunny coastline, beaches, delicious sweets and outdoor cafes, casino, passion for football, carnival and fun life attract tourists, students, shops and new residents.
The city of Felgueiras is particularly welcoming to visitors and students. The cost of living of the region is very inviting and its gastronomy is recognized. The bustle of everyday life, typical of an entrepreneurial community, is always articulated with the traditional glass of green wine.
